Toulouse- Lautrec and Montmartre




  • Toulouse- Lautrec expressed the lively hood of people. He translated the entertainment of peoples daily life.
  • Born in 1864, Noble and distinguished family (noble)
  • Married first cousin- stunted growth.
    • Went to paris to study painting
    • Paris still recovering from war in 1870
    • Early 20's lithographs stunned audiences. Right artist, right place, right time.
    • Montmartre- greatest explosions of history of entertaining art.

  • Edward Monte – depicted to cruel parts of paris suffering
